When the subject of wings was brought up, I figured that they would be curved and kind of follow the horn shape. After seeing the end result, would it work just as well to place the speakers in a wall enclosure into the next room and have the fronts flush with the interior wall? Once for fun, I turned the base box facing the corner about 3' away from a sheet of 4x8 ply-wood proped in the corner at about an 30/60 degree angel with the mid horn and tweeters facing forwards, but out of phase. It seemed to sound OK with more base sitting 20 feet away.

I very much considered building into the wall, the Altec box or something else. But what to do with the horns? An 811 or 511 would be easier to mount and seal into the wall, but the multicells - not.
The wings were used behing cinema screens mostly, AFAIK.
